Ask Me, Ask Me!

I decided to play a fun interview game with A Sassy Engineer. I agreed for her to ask me any 5 questions, and I would post the answers on my blog. So, here goes:

1. Do you want to have any more children?

Well, isn't this the million dollar question? Yes, I want to have more children. Will I have more children- that, I do not know. First of all, both of my pregnancies have been very difficult. With Sassy, I had hyperemesis gravidarum, and with Little A, I had severe all-day sickness bordering on HG. With Sassy, I developed pre-eclampsia and was put on bed rest. With Little A, I developed pre-eclampsia and was put on bed rest. See the trend? While my health was better during my second pregnancy, the trade-off was in having the responsibility of being mom to a 2-year-old, as well. Yeah. I don't know if I can imagine feeling the way I tend to feel during my pregnancies and having two little ones at home to care for.

Secondly, we want to be financially responsible, and having a third would take on a whole new set of challenges. We would need a bigger car, possibly a bigger house. How would we ever afford to take a vacation, allow all the kids to participate in lessons, etc. It's a lot to think about. But, who can resist the thought of a sweet little baby. I can't imagine not having another delivery day. I do not have that "feeling" that my family is complete. So, only time will tell.

2. What is your favorite vacation spot?

Unfortunately, I do not know that I am a seasoned enough traveler to answer this question with any sort of quality. Out of the places I have been, I would definitely love to re-visit Washington, DC, and Orlando once the girls get a little older. Oh, and San Diego. Personally, I would love to go back to San Fransisco, as well. I've only been out of the country once, and that was to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with some friends after high school graduation. I don't know that I am dying to return, although I would love to go somewhere nice and warm!

There are a million places that I haven't been yet that I would love to visit. These include Colorado, San Antonio, Jackson Hole, Oregon, Seattle, Sanibel/Captiva Islands, New York, anywhere in the Caribbean, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, Australia, South Africa, Thailand, China, and Japan.

3. What advice would you give a 21-year old?

Well, I would stress the importance of a good education. Strive to be a life-long learner. Read. A lot. Do what you can to open doors for yourself and not burn bridges. Network, network, network. Treat others the way you want to be treated. Try your best to focus on the things that really matter and not get too caught up in the whirlwind of life in young twenty-hood. Having said that, have fun. Lots of fun. Give new people a chance- you never if your next best friend is in the room. Try to find the good in everyone. Be genuine. Have a giving spirit. Enjoy each day for what it is. Try not to get to caught up in the "what-ifs" of life. Everything will come in due time. Things will happen as they are supposed to, in their own order. Laugh. Surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Cherish those people. Oh, and don't rack up credit card debt. You do actually have to pay that back someday...

OK, there are probably a million other things that I could think of, but these were the first ones that came to mind.

4. If you could emulate the fashion of one celebrity, who would it be?

Yeah, ok, not so much a fashionista, either. I do love clothes, but it will be a lot more fun when they fit better! Hmm... I would have to say Gwen Stafani. She is funky and original, but always gorgeous. She always has it together, and I love her style. Now, whether I could pull off such a look is a completely different story. Ah, well...

5. Were Romeo & Juliet in love at first sight or in lust at first sight? (We debated this in my freshman English class)

Well, considering they had nothing to base their love on besides purely physical attraction, combined with the fact that she was, like, 13... I'd have to go with lust. I know, I know- kinda ruins the warm fuzzy feeling... If you pay attention to some of the verses, they seem relatively selfish, self-absorbed, and immature. But, hey, Shakespeare called them "lovers". What do I know?

If you would like to play along here are the directions:
1. Leave me a comment & your e-mail address saying, "Interview me." If you dare.
2. I will respond by emailing you five questions. (I get to pick the questions).
3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions. (You get to choose the questions.)
The first five 'askers' get the interview!

I love it! Such great answers. I'm not really a seasoned traveller either, and I would love to go to DC. I love history so much and have never even been there. Also, I agree that they were in lust (I fought for that in our debate!)

What fun! They were great answers! I wish I'd listened to some of that advice when I was 21... especially the credit card one...
I'll play, too! (BTW, I totally think it's funny that Mandy read this post days before I did.) :) I think you already have my email.
