Catch-Up Part II aka Pictures and "Heartbreak"

OK, so where did I leave off? Saturday night and Sunday morning, we also spent a lot of time cleaning up after our get-together. Sassy has a passion for helping out around the house. We like to give her little jobs to do so that she feels important. She is forever running to get her "stepstew" in order to climb up to our level and help, whether it's cooking, cleaning, or giving Little A a bath. Ty put her to work on cleaning out some baby bottles. Forgive my camera skills- I still have not sat down and read the manual on my super-cool camera, so I am (sheepishly) taking everything in AF. Hence, my subject in not completely as in focus as it could be. Isn't she just the cutest thing, though? How she looks up to her Daddy??

I physically forced Tyler to take a picture of Sassy and I. For the thousands (yes, I said thousands... tens of thousands, if we must get technical) pictures I have of my children, there are way too few pictures with me in them. I am not camera-shy, although I do wish I looked better in the photos (How is my diet going? Don't ask...) It's just that I am the picture taker, and therefore, I am behind the camera 99.9% of the time. And, let me tell you, self-portraits with a DSLR are a skill of their own. Tough stuff. Anyway, here is a decent one. Forgive my hair, as well. I am down a thumb, remember?

Yesterday morning, we were getting ready to go to Sam's with Lynzee and crew, and we were running late... can you even imagine? Since Sassy is so insistent to help, I put her to work, as well. She had the task of officially giving Little A her bottle for the first time. Now, she was supposed to do this so that I could have time to finish packing the diaper bag, but who could resist capturing the moment, instead?

Oh, and about the "heartbreak"... the day has come. Sassy has officially taken to calling me "mom" instead of "mommy". I mean, c'mon... she's not even three yet. I am so sad. Of course, I made the mistake of giving her a sad face and saying, "I'm mommy, not mom," to which she replied with a giggle, "No, you're MOM." How soon I forget that the only way I used to be able to get her to give me kisses was to pretend I was crying and sad. She enjoys that... a little too much. I just cannot accept that the "mommy" days are over yet. Nope. Not happening.

Your lucky you at least get to be called mom, E says, Laura most of the time. Sometimes I can get him to say mom. So don't teach her your first name. ;0
