No More Monkeys...

...jumping on the bed!!

I thought I was done posting for the day. Little A was sleeping peacefully and Sassy was upstairs taking a rest destroying her bedroom while I was in the basement editing some wedding pictures.

I heard a cry, and thought it odd that Little A would be waking so soon. The next moment, I realized the wails were getting closer, meaning that unless Little A scaled her crib and learned how to walk in the last hour, it was the other one...

Sassy was sobbing hysterically as she came down the basement stairs. I ran up to her and gave her a big hug as she said, "I (he-he-he-he) hurt (he-he-he-he) my(he-he-he)self(he-he-he-he)!"

After a moment, I saw what she meant. Her poor little eye was injured. I tried to coax her into telling me what happened, and not until we retraced her steps did it become clear that she was jumping on her little bed.

I dug out the My Little Pony ice pack and brought it to Sassy. Now, typically, the ice pack is just to heal the emotions when it comes to toddler injuries. It's far too cold to actually use for its intended purpose. Well, today, I sat there and held Pinkie Pie onto her little eye to try and reduce some of the swelling. For Sassy, this was a fate worse then the initial injury, I am afraid...

I felt so sorry for her, but I just kept telling her that this is why we cannot jump on the bed. Yeah, I'm that mom. She kept saying she was sorry and she won't ever do it again. I hope that she remembers this one. Thank God it wasn't a broken arm or a trip to the ER!

After the ice pack, we made her a sick bed in my room, popped in Shrek 2, and gathered her guys. She is now actually resting while her little eye throbs. Poor baby!
