Cheering on Number Six...

Saturday was Sassy's first soccer game...

And, oh.my.word was she EXCITED!

Seriously, you'd think she was competing in the four-year-old Olympics or something.

She was so proud to put on her team shirt and don her NUMBER SIX...

Just like the morning of her first soccer practice, she was dressed and ready to go eons before she needed to be.

Oh, and she totally requested "crazy soccer hair" again. Apparently, it's all the rage...

I ♥ my sweet, silly soccer girl!

Don't her blue eyes look pretty with her light blue soccer jersey?

Then, it was off to the sports complex to cheer on the Smurfettes...

Tom was out of town for the weekend, so Tyler and another Dad took over head-coaching duties. The warm-ups were fun to watch:

Sassy wanted her shirt tied up like some other girls on her team, and thankfully Mrs. B was on hand to make that happen:

The first play of the game was about the funniest thing I have ever seen. We play 6-on-6, and many of these girls have not played before, just like Sassy. So, it was blue ball first, and the one little girl, R, received the ball and started dribbling down towards the yellow goal. All six girls from the yellow team and the other five girls from the blue team stood motionless, like statues, while she took it all the way down for a goal. Like, not even joking, did.not.move. Priceless!

Once Sassy got into the game, she had the running thing down.

She was definitely into running to where the ball was, but a little hesitant to get right in there. Great job for her first game, though. She was so excited when it was her turn to kick in the ball...

At halftime, different families bring snacks and drinks for the girls. I sort of forgot to notify the team of Sassy's allergies, and I just didn't have the heart to say no to her on game day. So, she thoroughly enjoyed her refreshments, red-dye and all...

Her tummy thanked me for it, for sure. ♥

During the second half, Sassy got to kick off to the other team. Oh my word, was it a production. As noted by the series of photographs I was able to take of her doing so. She sauntered and hunched like a little old man, trying to get herself in just the right position and she tried so hard to kick the ball with the correct form. It was SO adorable!

Rough job, this game they call soccer...

What can I say? She's a bona fide soccer savvy little smurfette!

All the girls did such a great job! Go blue!

Congrats, Sassy, on your first soccer game. Mom, Dad, Nana, Graycop, and Tink had such a blast watching you play. You tried your hardest, and we are SO proud of you! ♥
