See that girl, watch that scene...

...diggin' the dancing queen!

You are the dancing queen, young and sweet, {going on} seventeen...

Saturday, we had to switch gears completely {and quickly} in order to make it from Sassy's first soccer game to Andover Dance Magic for recital pictures.

The girls were instructed to wear toned-down stage makeup. Sassy couldn't wait to get out of her bath so that we could begin the hair and makeup process. She is so funny- I, for one, pretty much can't stand wearing makeup and she is just dying to all the time.

Here are a couple of pictures we took before we left the house for the studio...

For the first photo session, Sassy posed with her classmates in Pre-dance. This spring, they are performing to Put on a Happy Face from Bye Bye Birdie. The little girls looked adorable. Seriously. The cutest. Ever.

I wasn't sure how thrilled I was with the costume, since it is supposed to be a clown, I guess. Not a fan of clowns. At all. Period. But, it looks so cute on her! See for yourself...

She is such a little doll!

Sassy practiced putting on her happy face...

And, one more, so you can see the bottom of the dress a little better.

For the second session, Sassy posed with her Rhythm & Imagination classmates. The are performing to Birds on A Wire from the Pixar short For the Birds. Who doesn't LOVE that short? I know I do!

They are all acting as birds during the performance. Her classmates are purple and green "good" birds and Sassy is the orange "troublemaker" bird. It's going to be so cute!

Her she is, practicing her troublemaker moves {she needn't practice much}:

She's my birdie lou...

Stay tuned for details after her recital May 7th.

Oh, and thanks again to Uncle Bastian & Aunt Nicole for supporting Sassy's ♥ for dance and purchasing BOTH of her costumes this spring. We ♥ you guys and miss you tons!

Soooooo Cuuuute! I love both her costumes, especially the clown one, and I am not a fan of clowns either. She looks darling!
