Enjoying Peace, Relative Quiet, & Uncle Randy...

Tuesday was a relaxing day in the windy city.

Auntie Kelli had the day off of work, and we hung out at the house. I took the girls in the morning to Toys'R'Us to meet Auntie Kathy before work, where she purchased them new backpacks, lunchboxes, a few school supplies, and some other goodies. The girls and I also stopped off at Target to pick up some odds and ends, not excluding The Silent Girl by Tess Gerritsen, one of my very favorite authors.

In the afternoon, the kiddos played, took a rest, and we waited anxiously for Uncle Randy to return home from his active duty stint over the holiday weekend at the base.

He quickly caught up with his people.

Late afternoon, we decided to take a walk down to Madison St. for dinner. We tried a new place called Duckfat Tavern & Grill, and it was delicious! The duckat burger and duckfat truffle fries were pretty much out of this world. I can't wait to take Tyler there someday- he'll ♥ it!

After dinner, we walked to The Brown Cow for some ice cream. The girls each ordered bubblegum {eeewwwww....} and proceeded to gobble it down, gush over Tucker, and play peek-a-boo for hours. Or, so it seemed.

They had Tucker CRACKING UP!

After we walked home and got the kiddos settled in for bed, Kelli & I walked back down to Madison and over to Molly Malone's for a drink {or 2 or 3 or 4} before calling it a night. Blue Moon on tap equals my kind of drinking establishment!

Yeah for a wonderfully busy relaxing busy day!
