Challenger Soccer Week: The Final Day...

It was Friday before we knew it... and the last day of Challenger soccer camp for the summer.

Tink and I spent a bit of time watching Miss Sassy rock it out at camp.

It was neat to see the progress the kiddos made during the week.

Tink was such a good girl, patiently watching and playing with her new friends she made over the week...

The kids' assignment for the last day of camp was to construct a flag for their World Cup country. Extra world cup points would be given to the largest and smallest flag. We were so busy gallivanting around town with Adam and Kellie that we scarcely had time to even think about our homework. Luckily, we had some help {i.e. an English flag Kellie had folded up in her bag} in this area...

After all the points were tallied,t he world cup trophy went to... TEAM GERMANY. Of which Adam had a lovely time simultaneously congratulating {the kids were awesome} and mocking {apparently England and Germany have a bit of rivalry between them}... HA!

There was also an awards ceremony where each camper was called up, congratulated, and given a review/critique written out by the coaches. It was a really great camp, and nice to see the areas that Sassy improved in and could work on some more in the off-season.

Afterwards, a family game of Austin Powers commenced.

I've been hearing this game in my sleep since camp ended...

Austin Powers, are you ready?
Yeah, baby, Yeah.
Dr. Evils, are you ready?
Fire the laser...

Anyway...

We also got some group shots of the kids all together with their coaches. Fun stuff.

Adam & Kellie spent a good deal of time signing balls, jerseys, and shirts and taking pictures with all the kiddos.

The girls were in soccer heaven.

Later that day, Adam hung back while Kellie, the girls and I stopped for hair cuts and trims and eyebrows and all that fun stuff with Nikki at Venus Flytrap. We also went to Kohl's for a bit of shopping.

Later, I had a little surprise set up for Kellie. She had expressed her interest in fire science, and that she really wanted to sit in an American fire truck. I had called our local station and set up an impromptu tour for her {Thanks, MES!}...

Tom, Lynzee and the kids came over for some homemade pizza and backyard fun.

I don't know what I was thinking, but I arranged for a larger-than-normal fire pit Friday to say goodbye to our coaches, now friends. It was great... EXCEPT for the fact that we were leaving for Chicago at 5:00 the next morning and I hadn't even finished packing. YIKES!

We made it all work, albeit an almost nervous breakdown for me and some serious lack of hostess skills for our guests. Good thing they are all understanding comrades!

Oh, and Adam & Kellie were able to try S'mores for the first time. Now, that's what I call an American summer pastime. HA!

Tom kindly obliged to my request of taking some pictures of us as a group...

And I finished the process by capturing some sweet moments between them and the girls. Tink is such a character!

They made a great group, these four...

Sassy really took to Kellie and just thinks she's the coolest.thing.EVER.

And Tink... well, in case you couldn't tell...

She wanted to keep Coach Adam forever and EVER. She spent half of our trip to Chicago asking about Adam and how she wanted to see Adam and how she wuvs Adam and...

Pretty sure Kellie and Adam were ready to shed these appendages and get on with things...

All joking aside, though, we had a really wonderful week and a great experience getting to know these guys! They were polite guests, great role models for the girls, and just genuine, fun people to be around.

YEAH for new friendships!

So, guys... when can we come stay with you in England? ♥
