Back to soccer camp {week}. Sassy had a blast at camp. She loved hanging with the big kids, and I think she hung pretty well for being so small. Her original camp was only supposed to last 90 minutes a day, but she hung for the three hour camp once they were combined, so way to go Sassy!
If I'm to be completely honest, one of her favorite parts was deciding what to wear each day. What a DIVA! The was team England in the World Cup series, so she wanted to wear white as often as possible...
She definitely picked up some new skills...
Enjoyed taking it all in and watching the big kids hustle.
And of course loved, loved, LOVED hosting Coach Adam & Coach Kellie! Wednesday afternoon, we surrendered to the insane heat a bit by taking a trip to Rock River Rapids. I think Kellie & Adam enjoyed themselves, and the girls were beyond thrilled because there were enough "grown-ups" to go on the lazy river. Score!
Wednesday evening after dinner, we decided to take a little outing. The girls totally dressed themselves- can you tell?
We went to Braum's, where Tink proceeded to leech off of Adam's ice cream the entire evening. Good thing she has a charming little
Adam, Tink, and Ty headed home while the rest of us girls ventured off to WalMart for some much needed supplies- i.e. embroidery floss for the friendships bracelets that the kids were asked to bring the coaches on Thursday. Do I even need to tell you what I spent my late Wednesday evening doing?...
On the way home, we stopped at the Derby welcome sign. Coach Kellie is from Derby, England, so that was kind of fun for her!
Thursday morning, it was back to camp. Tink decided to wear the boots Sassy had worn the day earlier. I can't believe they want to wear rubber rain boots when it's 107 degrees out, but hey...
She's got a mind of her own, and that's no joke!
We checked out soccer camp for a while after I worked a bit...
Tink once again looked longingly at all the kids playing. So sad! I can't wait until it's her turn to participate!
After camp, we headed to Chipotle for lunch...
And, then to mini golf, per Adam's request. Considering the heat, we went indoors and ventured to the mall out west, which I have been to once in five years. I quickly remembered why. Just sayin'...
We were all cool with our glow necklaces...
Adam and Kellie helped the girls learn how to putt at the ball and not drag it from hole to hole. Sort of. It was fun, though!
I'm relatively convinced that Adam and Kellie couldn't have been any more awesome in these girls eyes if they tried!
After a quick trip to the candy store (in which I purchased salt water taffy for these guys for the first time), we hit Keeper of the Plains before heading home. I figured I'd better show them at least ONE landmark type thing while they were visiting Wichita!
Good thing i had my camera to keep me busy, because it was pretty much like I didn't even exist once we got there! ♥
The heat was stifling, but it is one place in town that I really do enjoy seeing!
We wrapped it up and said goodbye to the keeper before heading home in the nice air-conditioned car...
Then, of course, Lynzee and I coerced these two unassuming souls to join us in... what else... TRIVIA!
We all sucked. Bad. Ah, well...
The waitress did bring these guys a piece of bacon cheesecake to try on the house...
How's that for a Kansas experience? HA!
We were pretty sad knowing that we only had one lonely little day left with these guys, but we figured we'd try to make the most of it...
