The ABC's

A is for Anniversary...

Friday was our anniversary. We were way too busy to enjoy it... why, while crossing our fingers and toes for Tyler's job retention... Thankfully, he's still gainfully employed... for now. Pray that things pick up around here... these poor aviation guys are suffering!

We never really do much for our anniversary, anyway. We usually buy one another a card, maybe grab dinner. So, this year, Tyler gave me his card, and I thought it was quite peculiar. It had my name hand-written across the front, next to a substantial rip in the paper. Well, inquiring minds wanted to know, so I asked him why the card was torn.

Apparently, he read 271 cards before choosing the perfect one for me. He got home, poured his heart out wrote a line or two for me on the inside, and was just ready to place it in the envelope when...

...he realized that the front of the card said, To My Wonderful Husband...

...So, he tore that part off and gave it to me anyway, in complete Tyler fashion!

B is for Baseball... again...

My friend Lisa gave us free tickets to join them for the Wingnuts game Sunday night. We just couldn't turn down free tickets, so we trekked back to the stadium for another game! It was pretty sweltering in the sun, but we didn't have the pleasure of complaining about the heat for long. In the 5th inning, it started raining, and we high-tailed it out of there before the weather turned really nasty! Ah, well... it was fun while it lasted!

C is for Cox Farms...

One of our moms' groups had a spring tour at Cox Farms this morning. Sassy and Little A enjoyed the fresh air. Sassy jumped in the bounce houses for a while, and then we all took a hay rack ride into the fields and learned all about planting and raising vegetable crops. We took a tour of the farm store, and then went back outside to plant something.

Sassy took a moment to play peek-a-boo:

Afterwards, she played at the soil table. I caught her putting dirt down her shirt and in her hair. What was she thinking?!? She enjoyed looking at the shadows her hands made in the soil:

Next, each child was able to choose a plant to pot. They had the choice between a marigold, a petunia, or a green bean plant. Sassy chose the green bean:

Her choice made me chuckle, but she seemed to be pretty happy with her decision!:

So, we successfully wardened away a bad case of "The Mondays" by staying busy. Can't wait to see what fun the rest of the evening brings!

I love the picture of Sassy in her sunglasses eating popcorn. The card story is pretty funny too.

I looked long and hard at the Cox Farm Meet Up, but it is like an hour from here...
