I know that blogging isn't supposed to feel like an obligation, but sometimes it does for me.
I have all but given up scrapbooking, and I feel that these posts are important pieces of our family history.
Oh, and I just cant stand the thought of any adorable pictures of my cuddlebugs going to the wayside without being shared!!
So, let's get all caught up...
Our Topeka trip- after our trip to the Renaissance Festival, we had an hour or so to kill before meeting with some good friends of our from college. We headed straight to the children's' farm.
We only had about 45 minutes to enjoy before the farm closed for the day, so we headed to Sassy's favorite activity- feeding the baby goats. Here she is, armed with goat milk and smiles:
And, she fed away:
Daddy took a turn, too:
My sweet sun-kissed Little A... and a quick shout-out to my awesome baby-wearing hubby... what a fabulous Daddy!
Farm closed. We met with our friends- had a wonderful visit. Remembered old times. Made the 3-hour drive home. Arrived home LATE Sunday night. Resumed daily lives, reassimilated into our schedule, and recuperated all week.
The end.
Fast forward to My Gym last Friday. We had never been before, so we thought we'd give it a whirl. First... obligatory front-of-the-house picture:
Sassy belongs in My Gym. She is such a little monkey. She loved it!
Little A found it to be pretty exciting, too:
Sassy was all over the place. Don't you just love the bright colors this place has to offer?
Um... hello... I almost had a heart attack and died when she started doing this all on her own. Can we say broken neck? She was such a monkey!
But, I know I must let her explore and not hold her back from reaching new heights...
Figuratively speaking, of course...
Friday night, Sassy decided to embark on a new adventure... the sleep over.
Yes, three seems a bit young for such a feat. But, ever since LMB camped at our house, she and Sassy have been anxiously waiting to switch houses. Sassy was so excited to pack her backpack, pillow, and blanket:
Before we left, I told her over and over that I was just a phone call away and that I would come right over and get her if she needed me to (we live less than a mile away).
Here's a picture from later in the evening:
Yep, Mom got the phone call at 9:40 pm. LMB decided to call it a night early, and Sassy sat up in the bedroom for about an hour, refusing to speak to Lynzee. Hahaha. When I picked her up, she told me she was mad at Lynzee because she didn't want to sleep over there anymore. Like it was Lynzee's fault...
We were so proud of her for giving it a try, though!
The sleep over fail gave me a great opportunity to get Sassy dressed and outside for some... what else... pictures!
Sassy was a jumping fool:
I know I am biased, but isn't she just the cutest thing you've ever seen (on this blog... in the last 15 seconds...)
Thought so!
We bundled up extra good (we've had record temps here in Kansas for October) and headed out to the fire station for their annual open house. The kids had a great time exploring the trucks:
Little A was raring to get out of her stroller and go:
This is the first time Sassy has been willing to get up in the truck... happily. Let me remind you of this face. But, she was all smiles this time!
I made the horrible mistake of letting Little A down to crawl around the seemingly clean garage floor. Duh. Needless to say, it was straight to laundry when we got home!
Another fun trip to the fire station!
If at first you don't succeed...
That's right. You guessed it. We went to Lynzee's for dinner Saturday night, and Sassy begged to sleep over there. I didn't know that it was such a great idea, but we gave it a whirl. They baked snickerdoodles and watched movies and stayed up until almost midnight, but Sassy completed her first sleepover!
(Mom didn't get any pictures this time... thought it best not to build it up so much...)
Sunday, Sassy took a nap for the first time in ages to catch up on all the sleep she missed the previous night, and then we had a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. Oh, Chuck E. Cheese, how I loathe thee. Unfortunately, Tyler wasn't able to join us do to a side job, so I handles it.
Doesn't Sassy look so grown up?
I just have visions of att-it-tude in my future!
So, there you have it. OK, I feel caught up. Phew.
Now I can sleep tonight!
