Yep, that's right. Sassy had her first practice Saturday, and it was a huge success! Tyler and I bought her gear last Wednesday after we went to dinner for my birthday {yes, that's how I spent my alone time with my hubby- shopping for pee wee soccer must-haves}... She was SO excited to try everything on, and come Saturday morning, she insisted on getting dressed {fully dressed} for soccer hours before her practice even began.
If I learned anything this weekend, it's that a toddler in soccer gear is just about the cutest.thing.EVER. Wouldn't you agree?
Since we were dressed and ready to go extremely early, it gave me the perfect opportunity to take some pictures while we played outside. I even practiced a new technique I learned in the class I took last weekend- shooting from the hip. I *think* I need a little work, but it certainly offers some interesting perspectives...
Anyway, back to soccer. I am so, so proud of my girl. For me, this is just one of those silly times as a Mama where I just start to tear up for no apparent reason at all. Besides the fact that she's starting soccer. That she's old enough to start soccer. She's getting to be such a big girl!
I love that she is fearless and has that sense of capability- that she can do anything. She's not afraid. She doesn't care what anyone else thinks of her. She's ready to show the world what she's got. Couldn't we all take some pointers from our little ones in this regard?
We did some practice kicking. Sassy has one heckuva high kick and some power in those cute little legs. Watch out girls, here she comes!
Once we'd had enough soccer for a little while, we moved on to playing with the dried up leaves in the yard. Fun times!
Oh, to be four again...
Tink had some fun out there, too. Maybe a little soccer star in the making, the way she was trapping that ball. She had a blast throwing the soccer ball up in the air as high as she could, even if it did bonk her on the head on the way down a few times.
They are just so fun to watch when the play nicely together {which is not always, but often...}.
And, then, it was back to practicing for soccer practice...
I love my sweet girl. I can't wait to watch her first soccer game, and I look forward to seeing her
We finally headed inside to wait it out until Daddy came home from work. Sassy was very excited about the drawstring bag she was given the day earlier at the pediatrician's office when we were there for Tink's breathing check-up {still on nebulizer plus the addition of an oral steroid on board...} Perfect timing for the bag, though. Perfect for all her soccer stuff and water bottle!
Since I was in a snap-happy mood, I took some pictures in the car. Isn't Sassy's excited face adorable?
And, finally, it was practice time. Meet the light blue team {yet to be named}...
Sassy is excited. LMB is on her team, as well as her friends K and A and J from school. Several new friends to meet, as well! Should be a fun season!
Don't count her out just because she's small. She'll be great help from the cheering section, I'm sure...

Isn't it so fun?! I can't believe that Tyler will be old enough to start this Fall, too-wow! Soccer is great becaue all they really have to do is just run around, which every kid is good at!
Watch out Mia Hamm!!! ;)
Yea for soccer moms!! I've already got the mini-van, so I assume it will be in my future too =)
She looks ADORABLE, by the way. But then again, what else is new! =)
She did great! Looking forward to having her on the team this year!
