A real celebration waiting for us all...

Saturday in the park.

Saturday evening was the annual downtown Christmas event here in town. We stared at cold in the face, bundled up, and headed out. But, not before snapping a few pictures of Sassy in front of the Christmas tree.

Be forewarned... I think I will make it my holiday mission to practice my bokeh, so you may just have to bear with me...

Right when we arrived downtown, we jumped in line to visit with Santa. We went last year and the year before, and have never had the patience or wherewithal to do this. And, wait, we did...

I even had time to take pretty Christmas-y pictures and drive my entire family, as well as those waiting in line around us, crazy. I'm pretty good at that.

After a while, Tink decided it would be highly preferable to wear my ear muffs instead of her own hat, and, as you can imagine, I grew pretty cold pretty quickly. She thought it was grand.

When it was finally time for the girls to climb up on Santa's lap, Sassy froze up. She was shy and timid, and she didn' want to talk with him much. Tink was in awe, and gazed at him from every angle with her tongue hanging out. Yep, those are my girls...

After Santa, it was time for the petting zoo. The girls got a kick out of the llama, which I unequivocally attribute to Anna Dewdney. Oh, and we saw our good ole' buddy, the Newfie. One of these years, I am going to devise a plan to sneak him out of that little pen and march him straight home and to the foot of our bed, where he will loyally warm our feet for years to come. Do you think anyone will notice?

We ran into Tom & Lynzee, and all four girls waited in line to get their faces painted. With glitter. Joy of joys. {bah humbug}... Tink was extremely possessive of her bag of treats from Santa, and she insisted on rifling through her loot (while subsequently placing her sucker on the floor for safekeeping. Yeah. riiiiight...)

Our last stop was the pony ride area. Sassy spent the entire time sobbing because Tink accidentally smeared her face paint. Tragic. I was SO ready to go home at this point!

It was cold, but it was fun! The piping hot stuffed green peppers coming out of the oven as we returned home helped {thanks, Mom!}...

'Tis the season...

How cute is Little A with her tongue out on Santa's lap??? Almost as cute as Sassy's matching hat and coat I say.

Glad to see they actually decorated around Santa this year! We took T in 2008, waited in line for over an hour to find Santa in an empty room on a metal folding chair! We were cracking up and haven't bothered since!
